Recurrence rate of invasive lung adenocarcinoma after surgery

The postoperative recurrence rate of invasive lung adenocarcinoma is determined by the preoperative and postoperative pathological stages. The recurrence rate of invasive lung adenocarcinoma is not high if the clinical stage and pathological stage are before stage IIIa. Patients with stage IIIa can achieve a five-year survival rate of more than 30% with regular surgical treatment and postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Patients with stage IIIb or IV have a five-year survival rate of less than 10%. If the driver gene test of invasive lung adenocarcinoma is positive, i.e. gene mutation, targeted therapy or immunotherapy is feasible. If the driver gene test is negative, i.e., wild type, the five-year survival rate of patients is less than 10%.
