Abstract: A 22-year-old girl presented to the clinic with a superfluous vaginal opening with pruritus symptoms. The patient was initially considered to have condyloma acuminata because of the presence of impure sexual intercourse 1 month earlier. To clarify the diagnosis, white acetate test and HPV test were performed, and the results showed positive white acetate test and positive HPV-43 type, which clarified the diagnosis. The patient was given physiotherapy and medication, and eventually the vulvar excrescences subsided and the discomfort disappeared.

I. Initial consultation
The patient, a 22-year-old girl, reported that she found a light red papule on her vulva 1 week ago, which gradually increased recently and was accompanied by itching symptoms. The patient was very worried and came to our hospital for further treatment because the itching did not improve after she bought medication from a pharmacy to wash her vulva. After detailed communication, we learned that the patient had a history of impure sex one month ago, so the initial diagnosis was condyloma acuminata, and she was admitted to the hospital.
The actual treatment
After admission, the patient underwent a general examination, which showed a body temperature of 36.6°C, a pulse rate of 82 beats/min, 22 breaths/min, a blood pressure of 114/72 mmHg, no chills, fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and other symptoms, no abnormal vaginal bleeding or fluid flow, and normal urination and defecation. On gynecological examination, the vulva was married and pink warty papules were seen at the vulva, partially fused, soft and scratchy, and superfluous vaginal opening was seen.
After explaining the patient’s condition in detail, physical therapy was given, i.e. electrocautery treatment, complete excision of the superfluous organisms, topical application of recombinant human interferon alpha 2b gel and bandaging. After the operation, the patient was given polycystic injection intravenous antiviral and oral thymidine enteric solution tablets to improve immunity.
III. Treatment effect
After 1 week of treatment, the patient showed good wound healing, redundancy subsided, no new lesions appeared for the time being, and the mucosa at the genital area was smooth, no white lesions were seen in the white acetate test, and discomfort symptoms such as vulvar itching and pain disappeared. Six months later, the outpatient clinic followed up with the patient by phone. The patient reported no symptoms such as itching of the vulva, and a gynecological examination was performed, which showed no signs of recurrence of the patient’s condyloma acuminata and no obvious warts.
IV. Notes
I’m glad that the patient was cured after treatment, but because the disease is often prone to recurrence, patients need to pay attention to the following points in their daily lives.
1. In life, patients should pay attention to keep the vulva clean and dry after discharge to avoid infection of the traumatic surface. At the same time, patients should maintain a happy mood, ensure sufficient sleep and rest, and avoid staying up late and straining. It should be noted that sexual intercourse is forbidden until the patient is completely cured, and it is also recommended that sexual partners also attend the clinic together.
2. In terms of diet, take a light diet, avoid eating spicy and stimulating food, such as chili peppers, etc., and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to improve your immune system.
Five, personal insights
Condyloma acuminatum is an infection by the HPV virus, the disease is a sexually transmitted disease with proliferative damage to the genital area as the main manifestation. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who are not able to get a lot of money for the actual money. The patient in this case had the disease after impure sexual intercourse, and chose physical therapy as well as medication to remove the warts.
