Do all thyroid nodules need to be operated on?

Not all thyroid nodules require surgery. As people pay more attention to their health, many people undergo medical checkups, and more and more patients are coming to the doctor because of thyroid nodules found during medical checkups. Many patients will ask around or look for information on the Internet, which will not only make them nervous, but also mislead them and affect the correct diagnosis and treatment. First of all, it is important not to worry too much about getting such a medical report, but to go to a thyroid specialist or specialist clinic in a regular hospital for further consultation and treatment, and if necessary, to review thyroid ultrasound and thyroid function and antibody tests in order to properly assess the condition. Secondly, only a small percentage of all cases of thyroid nodules or unintentionally felt lumps in the neck during physical examination require surgery, while most patients do not need surgery and can be treated with medication or regular follow-up. Therefore, my advice to patients who find out they have thyroid nodules is to adjust their mindset, go to a regular hospital thyroid specialist clinic or specialist clinic for consultation and specialist examination, and follow the doctor’s instructions for follow-up, medication or surgery.
