Commonly used Chinese medicines for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases can be referred to as “stroke” and “chest paralysis (chest pain)” in Chinese medicine, and commonly used proprietary Chinese medicines include Yindan Cardiovascular and Encephalopathy Soft Capsule, Shuangshenlong Capsule, and Bingsiqi Tablet.
1. Yindan Xinbengtong Soft Capsule is composed of Ginkgo biloba, Salvia miltiorrhiza, hawthorn, gynostemma, Panax ginseng, etc. It has the functions of activating blood circulation and dispersing blood stasis, promoting circulation of qi and analgesia, and eliminating food stagnation (facilitating the digestion of food). It is mostly used for chest paralysis caused by stagnation of qi and blood stasis, which is characterized by chest tightness and chest pain, shortness of breath and palpitation, etc.; as well as those who have suffered from stroke and post-stroke syndrome with the above symptoms.
2. Shuangshenlong Capsule is composed of Astragalus, Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae, etc., which has the effect of benefiting qi and activating blood circulation, and soothing and clearing up veins. It is mostly used to relieve chest paralysis caused by Qi deficiency and blood stasis, which is characterized by chest tightness and chest pain, palpitation and weakness, etc.; as well as angina pectoris, coronary heart disease and ischemic cerebrovascular disease with the above symptoms.
3. Bingqi Tablet, composed of Panax ginseng and bingshi, has the efficacy of activating blood circulation and regulating qi, opening the orifices and relieving pain. It is clinically used in the treatment of chest paralysis caused by stagnation of qi and blood stasis, which is characterized by chest pain, chest tightness and breath-holding; and coronary heart disease, which is characterized by the above symptoms.
