Case 1: Male, 52 years old, giant hepatocellular carcinoma of the left lobe of the liver with AFP >1210ng/mL at presentation. arrows show the situation after TACE for giant hepatocellular carcinoma of the left lobe of the liver, where the white mass is iodine oil injected into the tumor during TACE treatment and the edge of the arrow is the tumor margin. MRI after radiofrequency ablation showed complete tumor necrosis and AFP decreased to below 20ng/mL. The patient has survived for 5 years after radiofrequency ablation, with no recurrence and no progression so far. Case 2: Male, 52 years old, giant hepatocellular carcinoma under the diaphragm in the right lobe of the liver with AFP of 1100ng/mL. At the time of confirming the untreated diagnosis, enhanced CT with arrows pointed to giant hepatocellular carcinoma in the right lobe of liver. After TACE treatment, CT could clearly show the tumor boundary. After radiofrequency ablation, the tumor was completely necrotic and AFP dropped to below 20ng/mL. So far it has been 34 months without recurrence and progression. Case 3: Female, 66 years old, giant hepatocellular carcinoma in the right lobe of liver. Microwave ablation was performed after TACE. MRI after microwave ablation showed complete tumor necrosis. It has been 23 months since then without recurrence or progression. Case 4: Male, 43 years old, hepatocellular carcinoma in the right lobe of liver, microwave ablation after TACE. It has been 14 months since the onset of disease and 13 months since microwave ablation. No recurrence and no progression so far.
