Most patients experience partial or complete pain relief within 72 hours after vertebroplasty, a technique in which bone cement is injected into the vertebral body. Overall, about 60-100% of patients experience pain relief after vertebroplasty, and this pain relief can last for months or even 10 years. In addition to pain relief, studies have also shown that patients’ functional status improves after vertebroplasty, reducing the need for pain medication.
