Proper understanding of “osteoporosis”

Once osteoporosis occurs, it is very difficult to reverse, and all current treatments (diet, exercise, drugs) are not yet able to reverse the process. Therefore, the prevention of osteoporosis should be emphasized, and the measures include: ① During the period of rising and reserve bone mass (from birth to 30~35 years old), regular physical exercise and adequate nutrition should be taken to make the peak of bone mass reserve reach a high level, so that even if the slow loss of bone mass and several rapid losses occur after the age of 35, a certain amount of bone mass can be maintained and osteoporosis can be avoided. ②Exercise: High-intensity exercise is beneficial to increase bone mass, and medium-intensity exercise can increase muscle strength and body flexibility and reduce the chance of falling and the degree of injury when falling; therefore, you can choose exercises of different intensities according to your respective physical condition and exercise habits, and match them to exercise your body. ③ Healthy habits: such as regular life, quit smoking and drinking, pay attention to calcium supplement in diet, drink less coffee and carbonated beverages, and appropriately choose Chinese herbal tonic for kidney and bone strengthening.  In addition, the favorable side for us is: the risk of bone loss and serious osteoporosis is lower for yellow people than for Caucasians. So if we pay attention to it from the young age and pay attention to it in our daily life, osteoporosis can be effectively prevented.
