Tertiary prevention of osteoporosis

Primary prevention should start with children and adolescents, pay attention to reasonable dietary nutrition; adhere to a scientific lifestyle. Secondary prevention mainly refers to middle-aged people, especially women after menopause, when bone loss is accelerated. Bone density examination should be done once a year. Pay attention to estrogen, vitamin D or calcium supplementation. Tertiary prevention mainly refers to patients with diagnosed osteoporosis, who should actively take medication as prescribed by the doctor, avoid trauma, and should be actively treated with surgery if there is a fracture. Prevention of osteoporosis is more important than treatment, but once osteoporosis occurs, its treatment is urgent and must be adhered to for a long time, and the main purpose of treatment is to prevent pathological fractures and relieve pain.
