What are growth factors?

Growth factors are multi-effect peptides that regulate cell growth and function by binding to specific cell membrane receptors. Since growth factors are secreted by normal cells, they are neither drug-like toxic nor immunoreactive.
EGF – Epidermal Growth Factor: A powerful cell division factor with various biological activities, EGF has the effect of repairing the epidermis, anti-aging, lightening pigmentation, smoothing wrinkles and moisturizing, and the amount of EGF in human body directly determines the youthfulness of the skin. EGF has the following effects
1, skin rejuvenation role: EGF can promote skin cell absorption of nutrients, accelerate cell metabolism, promote the division and growth of skin cells, and promote the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and glycoprotein.
2, nourish skin: EGF can promote the biosynthesis of DNA, RNA and functional proteins, can promote the synthesis of extracellular macromolecules (such as hyaluronic acid, elastin, etc.), increase the water content of the skin, which in turn increases skin elasticity and moisturizes the skin.
3, repair the damaged skin barrier (such as sunburn skin redness, pigmentation, sensitivity; hormone dependent dermatitis, cosmetics caused by skin sensitivity, etc.).
4, eliminate wrinkles: EGF promotes cellular nutrients from extracellular active transport to intracellular, increase intracellular nutrition. Promote the secretion of dermal cells to synthesize collagen fibers, polysaccharides, glycoproteins and other functional molecules, so that the subcutaneous dermal tissue is full and muscle fibers are arranged neatly and tightly, thus reducing and eliminating wrinkles.
5.Wound repair: EGF has the function of promoting the healing of skin and mucous membrane traumatic surface, and reducing scar contracture and skin deformation, accelerating the repair of epidermal trauma such as cornea and skin. It is widely used in the treatment of burns, scalds, surgical wounds, mechanical wounds, skin ulcers, and laser cosmetology. Used for the treatment of scars, especially the scars and bumps left after acne with better efficacy.
6.Whitening and sun protection: EGF rapidly eliminates inflammation, promotes new cell growth and replaces cells damaged by ultraviolet radiation to reduce the number of melanocytes in the skin. Using EGF during the treatment period and recovery period of blemish removal can effectively curb the recurrence of pigmentation.
aFGF-acidic fibroblasts: has various functions such as stimulating blood vessel growth, accelerating wound healing and promoting nerve damage repair. It can bind to all FGF receptors and is acidic in itself, which is stable in the acidic trauma environment. aFGF is negatively charged in the acidic environment and easily binds to the receptors on the positively charged cell membrane. Mild nature, low irritation, long-lasting effect.
1, thicken the stratum corneum, repair the skin barrier, improve sensitive skin and cosmetic-induced dermatitis (thin, fragile skin, red blood, intolerant of any stimulation).
2, reduce red blood, suitable for hormone dependent dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis repair.
3, restore the skin’s “water-locking” ability, so that the skin hydrated and moisturized.
4.Improve wrinkles, repair scar, make the skin delicate and full, elastic.
5, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, suitable for acne skin, help the inflammation and erythema repair.
6, promote wound healing, inhibit the formation of keloid, suitable for laser, embroidery, grinding post-operative skin care.
bFGF-alkaline fibroblasts: play a very important role in angiogenesis, promoting wound healing and tissue repair, promoting tissue regeneration and neural tissue growth and development.
1.Promoting the healing of epidermis and accelerating the epithelial coverage of wounds.
2, accelerate capillary generation, improve tissue ischemia and promote the reconstruction of microcirculation.
3, skin care, repair role: bFGF can improve the microenvironment of cell growth, promote the synthesis of elastic fibers and collagen, make the skin elastic, so that the skin is in a smooth and tender state.
4, anti-wrinkle, anti-aging effect: it can promote the growth and development of fibroblasts, constantly replacing aging cells with new cells, thus producing anti-wrinkle and anti-wrinkle effects.
5, whitening, spot removal effect: renewal of aging cells, thus reducing the content of melanin and colored cells in skin cells, reducing the pigmentation of the skin.
6, sun protection and after-sun repair role: can quickly repair damaged cells, reduce the damage caused by ultraviolet radiation on the skin.
7, anti-acne, scar removal: stimulate the formation of skin granulation tissue and promote the epithelialization of granulation tissue, but also regulate collagen degradation and renewal, thereby shortening the healing time of wounds and reducing the role of scar formation.
  TGF-β
1.Mediates cell growth in both directions, with low concentration promoting growth and high concentration inhibiting growth.
2.Promote the synthesis of extracellular matrix, such as hyaluronic acid (hyaluronic acid) and mucopolysaccharide.
3, promoting the repair of soft tissue injuries, such as penetrating wounds, ulcers.
  4, anti-inflammatory.
  5, inhibit scar proliferation.
PDGF: Platelet-derived growth factor. During the wound healing process, PDGF can be released by a variety of cells and is one of the early growth factors in the wound healing process, playing an important role in the whole process of wound healing, strengthening the formation of granulation tissue, promoting wound healing and shortening the healing time.
1, repair the microvascular system of the skin, to provide adequate nutrition for the skin. An important reason for skin aging is the atrophy of subcutaneous blood vessels, which leads to insufficient blood supply to the skin, so the cells lack of nutrients, resulting in wrinkles. Many growth factors are involved in the physiological regulation of angiogenesis. They each play a crucial role in this process. Among them, the regenerative vascular function of PDGF has obvious effect on delaying aging.
PDGF can successfully promote the production of collagen. The collagen generated by PDGF is more effective in delaying skin aging than directly applying or consuming collagen.
  3. PDGF is an important mitogenic factor with the ability to stimulate specific cell populations to divide and proliferate, promoting the production of fibroblasts, thus allowing wrinkles to grow and smooth naturally.
It is difficult for a single growth factor to exert maximum biological effect, therefore, clinically, multiple growth factors are generally used as medical skin care products to assist laser and other surgical treatments to whiten, remove wrinkles, lighten spots, remove scars and promote wound healing.
