1.After surgery, there may be slight pain and discomfort in the area around the wound and/or the affected scrotum, which is a normal phenomenon and will be gradually relieved after 3-5 days, and there will be slight itching after the wound heals, which is also normal, so you can choose to rest for 1-2 days, or you can normally engage in light work and try to avoid sedentary and strenuous activities. 2.Urinary catheter is routinely left in place after surgery, usually the catheter is removed within 24 hours after surgery, the retention time is very short, please do not worry about the urinary function after removal, if there is paroxysmal pain in the lower abdominal bladder area with urine overflowing from the side of the urinary catheter, most of the cases are caused by bladder spasm due to the retained urinary catheter, please use a warm water bag in the lower abdominal bladder area for 5-10 minutes, if necessary, hospital consultation. There is a little pain and discomfort when the catheter is removed, occasionally there may be a little bloody discharge from the external urethra, please don’t worry, drink more water appropriately and recover as usual after 3-4 times of urination. 3.Post-operative perineal dressing will be treated by the doctor after 12-24 hours, during this period, there may be slight discomfort, if you feel pain in the wound or perineal area after surgery, take analgesic drugs or visit the hospital. 4, post-operative diet according to medical advice, generally 4-6 hours after surgery can drink water, to a small number of times as the principle, 2-4 hours after drinking water without nausea and abdominal distension, you can eat normally, 24-48 after surgery avoid greasy diet and dairy products, soy products, to avoid causing abdominal distension. 5.Wound application of imported absorbable thread intracutaneous suture, some people absorb imported suture longer, it takes 2-3 months time, some suture will fall off by itself in bathing, usual friction, please do not worry. 6.After surgery, you will feel that the position of the testicles is shifted upward compared with before surgery, this is a normal phenomenon, the obstructed vas deferens is removed and anastomosis is performed to shorten the length of the sperm duct, as your activities increase after recovery, the position of the testicles in the scrotum will adjust on its own and the length of the sperm duct will increase slightly, please do not worry. Within 1-2 weeks, some patients who underwent vasectomy with microscopic reconstruction of the epididymis may have mild edema of the scrotum, which is because the compensated venous return pathway has not been fully adapted, in this case, please sleep in a supine position and elevate the scrotum every day, and the edema will disappear on its own after 2-3 weeks. 8. After surgery, you should change your underwear regularly to keep them dry and well ventilated. Please try to eat light food and less spicy and stimulating food. After surgery, it is recommended to take a bath or shower under the protection of a waterproof film for the wound. 9. Starting from the 8th week after surgery, semen examination will be conducted every 2 months to observe the change curve of semen quality, evaluate the effect of surgery and adjust the treatment plan. 10.If you encounter: wound dressing falling off, continuous blood oozing from the wound, unbearable local or scrotal pain, or any abnormalities related to your surgery, please go to the hospital promptly.
