What tests should be done to confirm the diagnosis of lung cancer

The incidence of lung cancer is very high. Pathological typing, genotyping and staging of lung cancer can help decide the next treatment plan. The following tests should be done to confirm the diagnosis of lung cancer: 1. chest CT examination; 2. serum tumor marker examination; 3. pathological examination: such as transbronchoscopy, percutaneous lung aspiration examination or lymph node biopsy to obtain the pathological typing as soon as possible; 4. genotyping: for non-small cell lung cancer, genotyping is required; 5. other whole body examinations, such as head and abdominal imaging and bone scan, are required around the possible metastasis of lung cancer.
