How to prevent and treat cervical cancer?

In China, 132,000 new cervical cancer patients are diagnosed each year. The incidence rate is higher in less developed areas than in developed areas, and higher in mountainous areas than in cities. women aged 15 to 85 years are affected, with patients around 50 years old being the most common. In recent years, the number of young cervical cancer patients younger than 35 years old is increasing year by year. The reasons for this may be related to early age of sexual debut, multiple sexual partners, multiple abortions, smoking and increased use of oral contraceptives. According to a study, the incidence rate of cervical cancer among those who have sex for the first time under the age of 18 is 13.3 times higher than that of those who are over 25. In addition, if the male partner has a history of impure sex and transmits sexually transmitted diseases such as HPV virus or condyloma acuminatum to the female partner, the female partner is more likely to develop the disease. In the early stage of the disease, the symptoms may not be obvious, and then there may be irregular vaginal bleeding, vaginal bleeding after intercourse and abnormal increase in leucorrhea and odor. If not detected and treated in time, cervical cancer can invade to the parametrium and then metastasize to distant places through lymph nodes, and some patients can also metastasize to lung, bone and skin through blood. How to prevent and treat cervical cancer? First of all, good lifestyle and hygiene habits are required for oneself and one’s partner. Studies show that the incidence of cervical cancer among fixed partners or monogamous partners is much lower than those with chaotic sex life, avoid premature sex and multiple abortions, do a good job in contraception, pay attention to genital hygiene, and have regular medical checkups. Since cervical smear examination is inexpensive and the detection rate is higher than 90%, cervical smear examination should be performed routinely. If you have the aforementioned symptoms of cervical cancer, you should inform your family and go to hospital for examination in time, and do not avoid medicine or purchase medicine for treatment. Because cervical cancer has the evolution process from cervical inflammation to precancerous lesion, then to early cervical cancer, and finally to middle and late cervical cancer, and precancerous lesion is mostly similar to cervical inflammation, so cervical inflammation should not be ignored, and cervical biopsy is feasible if abnormal smear is found. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, it should be treated immediately. Precancerous lesions can be treated by close review and conical hysterectomy, which can preserve the reproductive function; early cervical cancer can be treated by surgery, which has a better prognosis; if the invasion of the parametrium or vagina is too much, the timing of surgery is lost, and radiotherapy and chemotherapy can be done; once the distant metastasis, the prognosis is poor. At present, due to the screening of women’s diseases, most cervical cancer patients can be detected in China, but compared with developed countries such as the United States, the proportion of our advanced cervical cancer is still higher. The reason for this is that western women attach great importance to their own health care and have regular checkups on their own, so when the disease is detected, it is mostly at an early stage and the prognosis is very good. This shows that Chinese women should care for themselves, and the whole society should care for women and help them to value and maintain their health.
