What causes acne?

Many people often struggle with acne on their faces and try everything they can to treat it, often counterproductively. In fact, acne is the primary stage of acne. Improper treatment will aggravate the process of the disease and produce papules pustules, nodules, cysts and make acne worse. Let’s first analyze the causes, which may be enlightening for our friends to understand the disease and self-manage.
  1.Hormones
Acne usually begins when the body begins to secrete hormones during puberty. 11-14 years old is the culmination of the secretion of testosterone, and therefore the culmination of the growth of acne.
A woman’s premenstrual period is mainly affected by hormones, and some pimples will appear on her face during the premenstrual period or during the menstrual period, and disappear after the period. Emotions such as stress, anxiety and lack of sleep can also lead to endocrine disorders which can cause acne. When pregnant, the secretion of sebaceous glands in the skin increases due to the influence of hormones. Most pregnant women only feel that their face becomes oily and their nose becomes bigger. However, in a few mothers, the face, or even the front and back of the body, will produce annoying acne due to pore blockage and bacterial growth.
  2. High sebum secretion
The sebaceous glands are stimulated by testosterone and produce more sebum. However, the greasy sebum, mixed with the old keratin that is normally shed, accumulates in the hair follicles.
  3.Pore blockage
As male hormones increase and sebum secretion becomes more intense, hair follicles change. Normal dead keratin is gradually discharged, but old keratin is quickly shed during puberty, causing it to stick together and then mixed with sebum to clog hair follicles.
  4.Acne Bacteria
When sebum blocks the hair follicle, the P. acnes bacteria multiply rapidly and the chemicals they produce cause inflammation in and around the hair follicle.
  5.Cosmetics
Some components of certain cosmetics can cause pore blockage and produce acne. This kind of acne usually takes the form of a rice-grain sized pimple with a slight itching sensation. Do not rush to treat this situation or scratch it, but stop using all cosmetics first, and it will usually recover on its own in about a month.
  6.Heredity
The nature of human skin is genetic, generally divided into oily, mixed, dry skin type, oily and mixed skin type will grow acne, oily serious, mixed skin type acne will be lighter. Dry skin will not grow acne. Caucasians are more prone to acne than blacks and yellows.
  7. Metabolism
Constipation and gastrointestinal discomfort can cause pimples to occur due to abnormalities in the stomach and intestines.
  8. Skin is not thoroughly cleaned
Blocked sebaceous gland openings in hair follicles are an important factor in the pathogenesis.
  9.Environmental factors
  (1) Daily habits: Cheek resting or wearing a helmet produces repeated friction with the face.
  (2) Air: air pollution, dust adhering to the skin of the face.
  (3) Climate: sunlight, high humidity, will aggravate the condition of acne.
  (4) Food: Peanuts, chocolate, fried food, sunlight, high temperature have worsening effects on some patients. High oil, high-calorie food, if you then do not exercise, oil can not be consumed, converted into cortical exclusion, poor exclusion leads to acne.
  (5) Drugs: Oral or topical contraceptives, diet pills, menstrual stimulants, or drugs containing bromides, iodides, male hormones, lithium salts, paracortical hormones, certain cosmetics, industrial oils, polychlorinated biphenyls, and certain anti-tuberculosis drugs may cause acne.
  (6) Occupation: Frequent exposure to grease, chlorinated hydrocarbons (e.g. PCBs) due to work.
  10.Lifestyle
Irregular life, staying up late and not getting enough sleep, poor emotions, excessive stress, and poor eating habits can reduce the skin’s ability to repair itself and make acne worse.
This shows that good habits, quit smoking, reasonable diet, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, soothing emotions for reducing acne.
