How many days does it usually take to recover from renal colic?

The recovery time of renal colic is related to the causes of renal colic and cannot be generalized. There are many causes of renal colic, and the common causes are ureteral stones and inflammation of the urinary system. The clinical manifestations of patients are severe pain in the lower back, paroxysmal pain, accompanied by nausea, vomiting and microscopic hematuria, etc. The first thing that patients with renal colic should do is analgesia, followed by relieving the cause of the pain. The diagnosis can be clarified by ultrasound examination, abdominal plain film, intravenous urography or spiral CT. If the diagnosis of renal colic caused by stones is confirmed, the symptoms of renal colic will disappear after the stones are removed. It takes a relatively short time to complete the procedure from the identification of the cause, preoperative preparation to the completion of stone extraction, which should be judged in the light of the actual situation of the patient. In addition, patients with renal colic should pay attention to rest, avoid overexertion, relax, drink more water and eat lightly during the recovery process.
