Early symptoms of kidney stones

The presence or absence of symptoms of kidney stones is related to the size of the stones. In some cases, even until the kidney on the affected side loses its function completely, the symptoms are still not obvious. The usual physical examination can be done by ultrasound and x-ray. The common symptoms of kidney stones are back pain and hematuria, but they can also be asymptomatic. 1. Asymptomatic: Not all kidney stones will have symptoms. A small number of stones in the renal pelvis are large, inactive and without obvious obstructive infection, and can be asymptomatic for a long time. Many patients find kidney stones by chance during physical examination and usually do not have any symptoms. 2, lumbago: renal colic is a typical symptom of kidney stones, mainly manifested in pain, soreness and discomfort in the lower back, etc. Some patients have stones slipping into the ureter, which can also lead to severe colic. It often occurs suddenly, with a cutting pain on one side of the lower back. It may radiate to the lower abdomen, vulva and inner thighs. The duration varies. 3, hematuria: after renal colic more hematuria, most of them are microscopic hematuria, only some of them can be found red urine by naked eyes. 4.Fever: Kidney stones can lead to obstruction and infection. Stones obstruct the discharge of urine, which can easily cause bacterial infection, and in serious cases, can lead to sepsis, which is life-threatening. 5, hydronephrosis: stones slowly grow up and block the renal pelvis and ureter, resulting in hydronephrosis. Long-term hydronephrosis will cause impaired kidney function on the affected side.
