How to detect varicocele?

Varicocele is prevalent in 10% of men between the ages of 30 and 40. It occurs on the left side in 90% of cases, and the stagnation of blood flow in the spermatic veins can cause dilatation, tortuosity and elongation of the plexus vessels. Patients with varicocele may feel vague pain on the affected side, but some patients do not feel anything. The varicose veins can be seen or felt in the spermatic cord when standing up, and the varicose veins can be seen more severely when the abdominal pressure is increased by vigorous puffing of the stomach; in more severe cases, the scrotum is swollen and painful, and the back pain is relieved by prolonged standing, but can be relieved by lying down and resting. A more accurate diagnostic method that is currently used is color Doppler examination, which can detect subclinical type of varicocele.
