What are the ways to screen for lung cancer?

With greatly improved treatment of infectious diseases, improved socioeconomic conditions and open and equitable social resources, and increased air pollution, the topic of how early screening for lung cancer, i.e., regular screening, can be effective and less costly is a concern. Recently, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force gave the following information about the population and screening modalities for early lung cancer screening: current or former smokers aged 55 to 74 with a history of 30 pack-years of smoking or less than 15 years of smoking cessation (former smokers) can relatively reduce lung cancer-specific mortality by 20% (compared to lung x-ray) with CT screening every 3 years. The background to this study is that in the United States, there were an estimated 228,000 new cases of lung cancer and approximately 160,000 deaths in 2013. And obviously in China the numbers are higher than that, one is the large population base in China, another is that the number of people who smoke in China is no less than in the United States, and another, China is now a developing country and air pollution is a headache for everyone. We can think of how many families could benefit from this reduction in mortality if it were to become widespread in China. But how to implement, I personally believe that the first is to raise the awareness of doctors to screen; the second is to raise the awareness of public participation. One of these two is indispensable. I have personally encountered several cases where I suggested CT screening, but the patient refused and distant metastases were found six months or even months later. Of course there is no way to calculate this account. Of course, the scoundrel will say, I am a doctor, you are a doctor? In addition, the doctor’s awareness should also be raised, I have encountered some doctors in order to make patients feel good about themselves, they prescribe more drugs, will tell the patient to take X-rays on the line, this situation has two, one is that the person himself will not see the doctor, the second is to see, but as long as the patient today to coax past, is a victory. Others may think that China is so big and there are still people who can’t eat, so how can they go for regular screening for lung cancer? I’m not talking about those who can’t eat, I can’t eat even if I don’t do my job, and I don’t have much less to eat even if I do it seriously, I’m referring to those, who can get regular medical checkups! Or more money to use health insurance to buy vitamins and herbal health products. Of course, there are people who are not convinced that the rays of CT examinations have radiation, harmful to the human body, on this issue, experts believe that this dose is not very harmful. The above situation, to the doctor, to the patient, the good, the bad are mentioned, I hope not PEN, doctors as long as they can afford their conscience, patients as long as they want to see the doctor rather than looking for things, I believe that I can see useful information from my article.
