Is a heart transplant at 21 realistic?

Heart transplantation at the age of 21 is achievable and realistic if the physical conditions, heart donor, etc. are ready; otherwise it is unrealistic. Heart transplantation is a surgical treatment to restore good heart function in patients with end-stage heart disease by surgically transplanting a donor heart into the patient’s body, also known as in-situ heart transplantation, and is an effective means of treating advanced heart failure. This surgery enables patients with stage IV, irreversible severe cardiac dysfunction to obtain a better donor’s normal functioning heart and restore normal heart function. However, at present, there are many problems with heart transplantation that need to be overcome, such as harsh surgical conditions, expensive surgery, the need for a suitable donor to match, and the need for lifelong medication for post-transplant rejection. It is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors to avoid delays.
