What is artificial insemination all about?

Artificial insemination is divided into artificial insemination by husband semen (AIH) and artificial insemination by cervical insemination (AID) according to the source of semen. AIH is a technique to assist pregnancy by injecting the husband’s semen into the woman’s reproductive tract (mainly in the uterine cavity) after laboratory treatment. The advantages that it helps pregnancy are: preferential sperm selection: highly viable sperm are collected and concentrated, dead sperm, bacteria, antibodies and debris are eliminated, and several milliliters of semen are processed into 0.5 ml, concentrating the maximum number of highly viable sperm; crossing the cervix, avoiding the influence of cervical factors such as cervical mucus plugs and antibodies in the mucus on sperm swimming; AIH sperm swim directly to the fallopian tubes after entering the uterine cavity. The distance of sperm swimming to the fallopian tube is shortened. Sun Suling of the Reproduction Center of PLA 101 Hospital is suitable for: mild oligospermia of male partner; sexual dysfunction of male partner such as impotence, premature ejaculation, non-ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation, etc.; female partner’s reproductive tract that affects sperm movement such as cervical stenosis, adhesion, mucus plug in the cervix, excessive anterior and posterior flexion of the uterus, etc.; unexplained infertility or immune infertility in which both or one of the couple has anti-sperm antibodies, the laboratory technique can get rid of the sperm plasma and deliver the sperm directly to the fallopian tube. In cases of immune infertility with unexplained infertility or with anti-sperm antibodies in both or one of the couple, laboratory techniques can remove the antibodies from the seminal plasma and send the sperm directly into the uterine cavity to cross the antibody barrier of the cervix.
