Patients with pain above the eyes are first considered to have migraine headaches, which may be triggered by migraine symptoms due to recent overexertion, or mental overstrain and work stress. It can also be caused by sleep, such as a headache caused by a lack of sleep that causes the brain to not get enough rest. Diet can also induce migraine symptoms, such as patients eating spicy and irritating foods, or drinking stimulating beverages, such as coffee and strong tea, and eating foods that contain a lot of tyrosine, such as cheese, which can cause headaches above the eyes.
