Advantages of laparoscopic radical prostate cancer treatment with preservation of the neurovascular bundle

With advances in anatomy, improvements in surgical techniques, and the promotion of the concept of improving the quality of life of patients while eradicating tumors, radical surgery of retropubic prostate cancer with preservation of the sexual nerve, especially laparoscopic radical prostate cancer, has gradually become the direction of development in the treatment of early prostate cancer. At present, laparoscopic radical prostate cancer treatment with preservation of the sexual nerve has become the standard procedure for suitable patients in Europe and the United States, and this procedure is gradually being performed in large lumpectomy centers in China, and has also become our standard method for the treatment of limited prostate cancer. Foreign literature reports that there is no significant difference in complications, recovery time and positive margin rate between laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with preserved NVB and retropubic prostatectomy. Our experience shows that laparoscopic radical prostatectomy is anatomically fresh, precise, minimally invasive and safe, and more conducive to preserving the neurovascular bundle. Long-term evaluation of tumor control, urinary control ability and erectile function showed that this technique is similar to anatomical retropubic prostate cancer radical surgery, while patient recovery after surgery is significantly better than classical open surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
