Precautions for chemotherapy after cervical cancer surgery

For patients with early stage cervical cancer, surgery to remove cancerous lesions can quickly eliminate cancer cells and achieve clinical cure. However, surgery has the disadvantage of only eliminating the visible lesions, and there are still a large number of cancer cells in the body after surgery, so if they are not effectively eliminated, patients have a great chance of recurrence after surgery. As we all know, the serious consequences of post-operative recurrence, therefore, post-operative adjuvant therapy is the key. The purpose of chemotherapy after cervical cancer surgery is to use chemical drugs to poison and kill cancer cells. Since the tumor has been removed, why do we still need to poison and kill cancer cells, because cancer is a systemic disease, surgery can only remove local tumor, but not the free residual cancer cells in the body, so people often use chemotherapy to remove residual cancer cells, chemotherapy drugs have big side effects, and while killing cancer cells, it will also harm a large number of normal The side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs are so great that while killing cancer cells, they can also harm a large number of normal tissue cells and their functions, causing a sharp decrease in the number of immune cells and rapid decline of immune functions, as well as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lymphedema, poor sleep and hair loss. Some chemotherapy drugs for cervical cancer can cause liver damage and elevated transaminases. At this time, you should eat more bitter melon, mung bean sprouts, tea, mushrooms, mushrooms such as shiitake, fungus, monkey mushrooms, etc., eat more fruits rich in vitamins, such as kiwi, peach, apple, grapes, etc., and drink more green tea, oolong tea and honey water. If the liver function is seriously damaged, you can stew carp soup with 20 grams of Wu Wei Zi and 20 grams of Chinese wolfberry. Some chemotherapy drugs can also cause kidney damage, such as cisplatin. Chemotherapy for cervical cancer can cause oral mucositis, which is manifested as mucosal congestion, edema, ulceration and pain. At this time, it is necessary to keep the mouth clean, brush teeth after eating, and supplement high nutritious liquid or office liquid diet, such as lotus seed soup, snow fungus soup, milk, soybean milk and carp soup. When eating, avoid overheating, over acidic and stimulating diet, acute inflammation can contain ice fast to reduce inflammatory exudation, and ulcers can be used to add 20 ml of honey and 0.1 g of crushed vitamin C orally, 2~4 times a day. Chemotherapy for cervical cancer can cause poor bone marrow regeneration, especially the decline of white blood cells is the most obvious. In order to effectively prevent the decline of blood count, patients should supplement high protein diet during chemotherapy, such as milk, soybeans, lean meat, pig’s feet, sea cucumber, fish, animal liver and red dates, peanuts, walnuts, black fungus, carrots, adzuki beans, etc. River crab, black fish, beef, animal boiled gum peptones such as donkey skin gum (Agaricus blazei) and pig skin gum (Peptonema carnea) also help to elevate white blood cells.
