What are the features of thoracoscopic surgery?

Thoracoscopic surgery is the most significant progress in thoracic surgery at the end of the 20th century. It applies modern television camera technology and high-tech surgical instruments and equipment to complete complex intrathoracic surgery under 3-4 small incisions in the chest wall of 1~3cm, which is known as “keyhole surgery”. In the past 10 years, thoracoscopic surgery has made rapid development and is now routinely used in lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection, lung wedge resection, esophageal cancer radical treatment, esophageal myotomy, sympathetic nerve chain severance, pulmonary alveolar resection, minimally invasive orthopedic funnel chest and other procedures. The advantages of thoracoscopic surgery are very obvious: 1.Small trauma, no cutting of ribs; 2.Less bleeding, no blood transfusion is needed for most of the surgery; 3.Low postoperative pain, can get out of bed in 24 hours, and can participate in physical activities 2-4 weeks after surgery; 4.Less postoperative complications; 5.Small incision scar, beautiful.
