Cefradin (i.e. Pioneer VI, Cefradin, Sefradin, Panjevir) is a first-generation cephalosporin for respiratory tract infections such as acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, bronchitis, and pneumonia caused by sensitive organisms, infections of the genitourinary tract, and infections of the soft tissues of the skin. Acyclovir (acyclic guanosine, Shu Wei Cure, Gantai) is commonly used clinically in the treatment of herpes simplex virus infection, herpes zoster, immunodeficiency chickenpox and other diseases. According to the National Center for Adverse Drug Reaction (NCADR), Adverse Drug Reaction Information Bulletin (ADRIB), the 18th and 19th issues in December 2008 reported that these two drugs caused hematuria and renal impairment. Clinicians should strictly control the therapeutic indications. Avoid excessive dosage, too high concentration, too fast titration, and improper compounding of drugs. Once abnormalities are found, the drug should be stopped immediately, a clear diagnosis should be made, and symptomatic treatment should be given in time.
