How long after a fall can an infant be excluded from brain damage

Infants are generally observed for 1-3 days after a fall, or 72 hours, to rule out the risk of cranial brain injury. Infants with cranio-cerebral injury are often characterized by headache, nausea and vomiting, irritability and crying, and in severe cases, coma, fever, convulsions, etc. The differential diagnosis can usually be made by auxiliary examinations such as cranial CT or MRI. The infant should be closely observed for mental status and symptoms of cranio-cerebral injury after the fall, and it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the relevant examination. Since some infants may experience delayed cerebral hemorrhage, close observation for 1-3 days is recommended, followed by regular review. Craniocerebral trauma in children is more common in mild cases and generally has a relatively good prognosis and low mortality rate. Parents should take better care of their children to avoid cranio-cerebral trauma.
