Is male infertility difficult to treat?

According to the World Health Organization, couples of childbearing age who have lived together for more than one year without using any contraceptive measures and who are infertile for male reasons are called male infertility. In our clinic, we often see couples who come to us for medical treatment, reflecting that they are still “inactive” after marriage or cohabitation for many years. As people become more health conscious, fertility and eugenics are becoming more and more of a topic of concern. Infertility is difficult to treat! This is a common experience among male physicians. It is difficult to treat because of the many causes of infertility, such as congenital genetic causes, acquired gonadal dysplasia, viral infections, chronic inflammation of the genitourinary system, endocrine disorders, obstruction of the vas deferens, and varicocele ……. Most patients have unclear causes of infertility and can only be treated through doctors’ experience, and many even simply do not check anything, take one step at a time, or treat intermittently, missing the best stage of fertility. For fertility problems, our principle is to clarify the cause as much as possible and to understand the direction and purpose of treatment. First of all, a sperm quality analysis (CASA) is needed to determine what kind of sperm problem exists, is it insufficient number? Is there a decrease in viability? Or too many abnormal sperm? Or is it an increase in inflammatory cells. Depending on the situation, further tests such as culture of microorganisms, ultrasound, endocrine, etc. are chosen.       If the root cause of the disease can be found, the “right medicine” will be prescribed. For example, if the infection causes weak spermatozoa, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory treatment is needed; severe varicocele requires surgical treatment; and gonadal insufficiency can be treated by hormone replacement therapy. Chinese medicine is mild, has few side effects and does not interfere with embryonic development, so it is popular among patients. Regardless of the method, it is necessary to be persistent and stick to the treatment for a longer period of time. The physician’s analysis of the condition should be realistic so that the patient understands his or her condition. For cases of testicular atrophy and loss of spermatogenic function, do not waste time and energy on further examination and medication, as there is no cure for this condition in the medical community. For serious cases of low sperm and weak sperm, instead of taking medication for years and years, it may be more hopeful to use IVF technology. Of course, everything has its advantages and disadvantages, and this method is expensive, so many families can not afford it. My own opinion is that if you can’t achieve the desired results after six months of medication, then you should seek to use IVF. Many people want to supplement their diet with more beneficial elements to improve kidney function. In fact, as long as we eat scientifically and have a balanced diet, we will not lack trace elements. Fish, lean meat, oysters are rich in carnitine and zinc, apples, tomatoes, walnuts, nori contain more vitamins, which are beneficial to sperm growth and advocate eating more. As for the avoidance of mouth depends on the individual situation, such as prostatitis patients avoid eating spicy, wine, shrimp and crab; the body is hot, easy to fire the body eat less barbecue and onion and garlic; spleen and stomach poor people eat less cold, hard to digest food. The carbonated drinks easily affect the gastrointestinal function and should not be drunk.
