Can warts be treated?

  Warts can be cured, however, they are more likely to recur.  The primary goal of condyloma treatment is to remove the warts. There are many ways to remove warts, including topical medications, freezing, laser, electrocautery and surgical treatment, with different indications.  The actual topical medications are ghost toxins, imiquimod, interferon, and also some herbal medicines that have an erosive effect. Topical medications are mainly used for relatively small warts.  Physical methods are freezing, electrocautery and laser. The main advantage of electrocautery and laser is that the warts are removed faster and the healing time is shorter. There is no visible trauma with cryotherapy, but localized edema and blisters may occur. The surgical method is mainly used for giant warts.  There is also a relatively new treatment method, photodynamic therapy. It is an excellent treatment for both acromegaly and subclinical infections that can be observed by the naked eye and can significantly reduce the number of recurrences.  In addition to topical treatment, immunomodulatory drugs such as levamisole, thymidine, transfer factor, interferon or pidomod can be taken systematically. These drugs are beneficial in reducing recurrence.  If there are warts, timely access to regular hospitals, warts can be cured, recurrence in a timely manner to the hospital follow-up.
