How long does thrush take to heal?

Thrush is usually cured after about 1 week of regular treatment. Thrush refers to xerostomia, which is also a Candida albicans infection, mainly caused by a fungal infection that results in white patches of the oral mucosa, which can be wiped away. It is mostly seen in infants and children under 2 years of age who are malnourished or due to poor hygiene. Thrush can also be a complication for frail elderly patients or for elderly patients on long-term antibiotics. Clinical treatment is mainly by maintaining an alkaline environment, such as giving a 2%-5% sodium bicarbonate solution to rub in or gargling a mycophenolate solution to rub out. With regular treatment, thrush is usually cured in about 1 week. However, there are special patients, such as HIV-infected patients, who may not heal for a long time after such treatment with alkaline, and in this case the patient should pay great attention.
