How long does thrush take to heal

Patients with thrush are usually cured in about a week after regular treatment. Thrush is caused by Candida albicans infection in the mouth, and can be treated by gargling 3%-5% sodium bicarbonate solution in water, or by taking antifungal drugs such as ketoconazole, miconazole and fluconazole orally, or by grinding mycophenolate tablets into a powder and applying it to the affected area of thrush. For children, regular disinfection of feeding utensils is also required. If an elderly person wears a removable denture that causes thrush in the mouth, the denture should not be worn for the duration of the disease and should be cleaned and disinfected. After regular treatment, thrush usually heals within a week or so, but it can easily recur in people with particularly low immune function or those who have been taking antibiotics for a long time.
