Acetabular dysplasia, also known as developmental dislocation of the hip (DDH), was formerly known as congenital dislocation of the hip. Because of the lack of timely or adequate treatment in early childhood, the dysfunction of the hip joint may remain in adulthood, which is more difficult to treat. Depending on the age of the patient and the degree of dislocation, the surgery such as acetabular osteotomy, capsuloplasty and artificial joint replacement are mainly used to relieve pain, improve gait and correct lower limb inequality.
