Symptoms of Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B, or viral hepatitis B, is a systemic infectious disease caused by hepatitis B virus (HBV), with liver damage as the main cause. Its symptoms may vary slightly in different patients, but the common main aspects are as follows: the main manifestations of hepatitis B patients are: fever, fatigue, nausea, poor appetite, anorexia, vomiting, discomfort in the right upper abdomen, abdominal distension and so on. The more serious patients show symptoms of jaundice with yellow eyes, yellow skin and yellow urine, and the earliest manifestation of jaundice is the darkening of the urine color. It should be noted that drinking too little water or certain medications can also cause yellow urine, and attention should be paid to the difference. When the concentration of bilirubin in the blood continues to increase, it can cause jaundice of the eyes and skin, and severe jaundice can cause itching of the skin. Symptoms of abnormal blood clotting such as easy bleeding of the gums may also occur. Patients may also have some extra-hepatic manifestations, mainly due to long-term endocrine disorders, skin pigmentation or persistent or repeated jaundice in patients with cirrhosis, which may appear dark and obscure face called hepatic facies. In addition, some patients may have spider-like capillary clusters ranging from a few millimeters to several centimeters on the face, neck, forehead and back of the hands, and the color fades when pressed, which is called spider nevus. Moreover, not every patient will have the symptoms of hepatitis B, which mainly depends on whether his liver function is impaired or not. If the liver function is damaged, the above symptoms will appear. If it is just simple hepatitis without damaging the liver function, there may not be any symptoms. Therefore, the manifestations of Hepatitis B patients are mainly in the above aspects, but the specific patients may be different, and not all Hepatitis B patients have symptoms, so patients can not judge whether they are suffering from Hepatitis B only according to the symptoms.
