How long can you live with gout in your twenties

Even if a patient suffers from gout in his or her twenties, if he or she receives regular treatment and keeps his or her blood uric acid level up to the standard, it will not usually have an impact on life expectancy. If a gout attack occurs in the twenties and the patient is able to actively control the progression of the disease and stabilize the blood uric acid level to the standard range, gout will generally have no impact on life expectancy. However, it is important to note that gout can cause a series of complications in addition to joint swelling and deformity, such as kidney damage leading to renal insufficiency and, in severe cases, uremia, which can affect life expectancy. In addition, gout patients with high levels of uric acid have an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases compared to healthy people, which can also have an impact on life expectancy in case of critical illness. Therefore, if a patient has a gout attack in his or her twenties, he or she should receive systematic and standardized treatment as soon as possible, and strictly limit the intake of high purine diet and maintain a regular lifestyle.
