How to treat gout patients in the diet

Gout is a heterogeneous group of diseases caused by disorders of purine metabolism and/or impaired uric acid excretion in the human body, and the main clinical feature is hyperuricemia. Acute gouty arthritis is the first symptom of primary gout, which usually occurs in the lower extremities, often triggered by emotional excitement, overwork, overeating, alcoholism, etc. The onset of the disease is rapid, mostly at night with sudden onset of severe joint pain, accompanied by fever and other systemic symptoms, often involving the fingers and toes and metatarsophalangeal joints, especially the first metatarsophalangeal joint, followed by the ankle, wrist, elbow joints, etc.; the initial onset is mostly single, gradually spreading to other joints. The symptoms usually subside after 3-10 days, and can recur after several years or months. In recent years, with the improvement of people’s material living standard and the change of diet structure, the incidence of gout is increasing and there is a trend of younger people.      Gout and hyperuricemia currently have no special treatment, although Western medicine can temporarily relieve the symptoms, but after stopping the drug is often easy to recur, and many side effects, it is difficult to achieve long-term use of drugs, while Chinese medicine treatment of gout efficacy and mild toxic side effects, has been increasingly concerned about the medical community and attached great importance. In addition to active treatment, a reasonable diet is also crucial. Strictly controlling the intake of high-purine foods is an important part of preventing the recurrence of acute gouty arthritis. This is reflected in the following aspects: 1. Light diet. Take bread, soda crackers, flour, cereal, lotus root powder, corn, juice, carrots, cucumber, pumpkin, yams and tomatoes as the main low purine diet, and strictly control the intake of cauliflower, spinach, beans, lobster, mushrooms, as well as animal offal, sardines, wine and other high purine foods. 2. Pay attention to drinking more water. Drink less acidic drinks. Patients with normal heart and kidney function should be instructed to drink a lot of water. About 2000 to 3000m1 per day to dilute the concentration of uric acid in the blood and increase the discharge of uric acid salts. 3, prohibit drugs that can induce gout attacks. Such as aspirin, tachyphylaxis, vitamin B12 and sulfonamides, etc. 4, medicinal food therapy. Such as mung bean and barley soup. Lily soup, lily porridge, etc. In addition to diet should also pay attention to keep warm, avoid getting cold, work and rest, and keep a relaxed mood.
