Is it necessary to choose standard treatment for liver cancer?

Today I saw a consulting patient in the outpatient clinic whose father had liver cancer with a large tumor, approximately 10 cm in diameter, with pulmonary metastases and had just been treated with argon helium knife at a local hospital and came in to ask if there was a better treatment option. It is not my intention to comment on the choice of Ar-He knife treatment at the local hospital, but it is important to point out that the Ar-He knife option is by no means the treatment of choice for this patient. Again, for patients with primary liver cancer, surgery is preferred if there is an opportunity for surgery; for those who do not have an opportunity for surgery or do not wish to be treated surgically, interventional treatment, also known as TACE (hepatic artery chemoembolization therapy), is the first choice. Standardized selection of treatment plan can maximize the life of patients, reduce their pain, avoid patients to take a detour in treatment, and enable patients to obtain the maximum treatment benefit.
