What is a Bartholin’s gland cyst

  Bartholin’s cyst, also known as vestibular gland cyst, is a common gynecological condition.  It is usually caused by the accumulation of secretions due to the obstruction of the vestibular gland ducts, which can manifest as swelling and discomfort on one or both sides of the vulva, followed by infection and inflammation. Bartholin’s gland cysts can recur, so care must be taken.  If the cyst is not very large and hard to the touch, it can be treated with anti-inflammatory treatment or a potassium permanganate tablet in a water bath to reduce inflammation, etc. If the cyst is soft to the touch and has a fluctuating sensation, it means that an abscess has formed, which generally requires surgery, such as vestibular gland abscess stoma, incision and drainage of pus.  In conclusion, vestibular gland cysts, also known as Bartholin’s cysts, often manifest as painful redness and swelling on one or both sides of the vulva, is a common gynecological disease, generally after anti-inflammatory treatment or surgery can achieve satisfactory results, but keep the vulva clean, light diet is also the key to prevention and treatment. Do not wear tight pants and pay attention to bed rest. Excessive consumption of spicy and irritating hair products can easily lead to the recurrence of Bartholin’s cyst.
