Women’s Bartholin’s cyst usually heals in a few days

Bartholin’s cysts usually take about 7-9 days to heal initially and half a month to heal completely after surgery. Bartholin’s cyst is a common gynecological condition, also known as a vestibular gland cyst. Bartholin’s cyst is caused when the discharge of vestibular gland secretions is obstructed and collects in the lumen of the duct, causing a cystic expansion of the gland. Bartholin’s cysts can be observed regularly and do not require treatment if they do not interfere with the patient’s daily life. If it causes repeated infections and forms an abscess, the patient needs to go to the hospital for surgery. Healing can be achieved about half a month after surgery. After the operation of Bartholin’s gland cyst, patients need to avoid spicy and stimulating food, maintain a light diet, pay attention to personal hygiene, take oral antibiotics or local topical anti-infective drugs as prescribed by the doctor, avoid infection from vaginal secretions and urine and feces, and change medication regularly for review.
