What are the symptoms of adrenal tumor?

Adrenal tumors can be divided into non-functional adenomas and functional adenomas. Non-functional adenomas often do not have any clinical symptoms and are often found unintentionally during physical examinations. Functional adrenal tumors can be divided into cortisol adenomas, aldosterone adenomas and pheochromocytomas depending on the hormones secreted. The common manifestations of cortisol adenoma caused by increased secretion of corticosteroids are centripetal obesity, full moon face, buffalo back, increased fat in the chest, abdomen, neck and back, thin skin, polycythemia, purple skin lines; acne, hirsutism, menstrual disorders in women, impotence in men; decreased libido, low immunity; osteoporosis, easily causing crestal compression fractures; increased blood pressure, cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure; emotional irritability, even mental abnormalities . Aldosterone adenoma mainly manifests as hypertension, mostly slowly progressing benign hypertension, and the effect of general antihypertensive drugs is not obvious; hypokalemia, aldosterone has the effect of promoting urinary potassium excretion, which often causes muscle weakness, periodic paralysis, hand and foot convulsions, and even difficulty in swallowing and whistling, and the electrocardiogram often has obvious abnormalities. Plasma renin activity is reduced due to increased secretion of aldosterone and inhibition of renin secretion in the body, causing reduced plasma renin activity. Pheochromocytoma due to secretion of large amounts of catecholamine hormones. Such as epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, etc. cause chenopalatine hypertension with significant blood pressure fluctuations. Catecholamines are the main hormones that regulate blood pressure in the body, and the binding of the remaining endothelium-related receptors causes vasoconstriction and a rise in blood pressure, which often leads to uncontrollable hypertension if there is excessive secretion, and general antihypertensive drug therapy is ineffective.
