Adrenal tumor imaging

The adrenal glands are located bilaterally above the kidneys. Adrenal gland diseases are divided into benign and malignant diseases. Among adrenal gland tumors, the common benign tumor is adenoma. Adrenal adenoma may produce clinical symptoms of hypertension or may not produce clinical symptoms and is discovered incidentally by physical examination. The typical imaging presentation of adrenal adenoma is a round, uniformly dense mass less than 3 cm in diameter with moderate enhancement in one or both adrenal glands. The adrenal gland is a common site of metastasis for systemic malignant tumors, and metastases mainly present as irregular solid masses in the adrenal area bilaterally.
