The following laboratory tests should be done before treatment and during follow-up for lupus nephritis: routine blood tests for anemia, leukocytopenia or thrombocytopenia; urine tests, including urine routine, sediment microscopy, renal tubular function tests; liver function and renal function tests; autoantibodies; complement; (6) CD4+/CD8+ T lymphocytes; cryoglobulins; ESR, CRP, etc. If necessary, further renal puncture examination is required. So, what is the necessity of performing renal puncture examination? The clinical manifestations of patients with lupus nephritis vary in severity, and more importantly, the renal lesions are also different, and different pathological types can be determined through renal puncture examination. Therefore, lupus nephritis must be treated according to “type” in order to obtain the best results.
