What is occult glomerulonephritis? (Reprint)

Also known as asymptomatic hematuria and/or proteinuria, it is a group of glomerulopathies without edema, hypertension and renal impairment, but presenting only with simple proteinuria or (and) glomerular hematuria. Urine protein quantification <1.0g/24 hours without hematuria is called simple proteinuria. Those without urine protein with persistent or intermittent microscopic hematuria, and those with predominantly abnormal urine red blood cells on phase contrast microscopy, are called simple hematuria. The pathological changes of this disease are mostly mild and can be seen in mild lesional glomerulonephritis, mild thylakoid hyperplasia and focal segmental glomerulonephritis. The prognosis is good.
