The diagnostic criteria of nephrotic syndrome are massive proteinuria, hypoproteinemia, and high edema and hyperlipidemia. Why is the decrease of albumin more obvious in patients with nephrotic syndrome? Because the molecular weight of albumin is relatively low, when it goes through the blood circulation to the glomerulus, the glomerular filtration barrier and the electronic barrier are destroyed, and there will be a large amount of proteinuria, and the synthesis of the liver is not enough to compensate for the leakage of protein, so there is a decrease of albumin. In some patients, the albumin can be reduced to 6-8g. After the decrease of albumin, edema will occur, and individual patients may also have hypotension.
