Causes of dry eye disease

Dry eye, also known as ocular dryness and dry keratoconjunctivitis, is due to abnormalities in the quantity or quality of tears, which leads to a series of uncomfortable symptoms in the eye and can seriously affect vision, and is one of the most common ophthalmic diseases at present. The causes of dry eye include long working hours of video, environmental pollution, corneal contact lens wear, female endocrine influence, social aging, etc. It is more common in middle-aged and older women. The clinical manifestations are mainly: dry eyes, photophobia, increased eye discharge, conjunctival congestion, corneal clouding, and may be accompanied by dry mouth and nose. Currently, Western medicine is based on symptomatic and local treatment: drops of artificial tears, wearing closed bifocals, silicone rubber eye shields, gland transplantation, oral neostigmine to stimulate lacrimal gland secretion and other treatments, but all are unsatisfactory. Chinese medicine believes that the moistening of the eyes depends on the abundance of liver blood, kidney qi and kidney essence, if the liver and kidneys are out of balance, essence and blood deficiency, the eyes lose the moistening of fluid, which can lead to dry eyes. There are many studies and reports on the use of Chinese herbal medicine to nourish yin and brighten the eyes, nourish the liver and kidney, fill the essence and blood, nourish yin and produce fluids, and treat dry eyes with Chinese medicine special therapy, especially the use of pure natural, effective, safe, easy and simple to use herbal artificial tears, can achieve better results.
