Stage 4 lung cancer is advanced lung cancer, and the survival time is mainly related to the patient’s physical condition and whether to take active and reasonable treatment measures, and there are individual differences, and the average survival time is about 1-1.5 years. When lung cancer reaches stage 4, pleural effusion or pericardial effusion may appear; cancer cells may metastasize to other parts of the body through blood flow, generally any part of the body may be metastasized, but more common parts are brain metastasis, bone metastasis, liver metastasis and adrenal metastasis, sometimes involving one organ and sometimes several organs. In general, the survival period of small cell lung cancer is about 1 year after regular treatment. For non-small cell lung cancer, especially adenocarcinoma, due to the rapid development of targeted therapy and immunotherapy, the survival period of advanced stage patients is greatly extended, and the survival period generally exceeds 1 year or even reaches 3 years. Stage 4 lung cancer cannot be cured by surgery and is mainly treated by conservative therapy, which mainly includes radiotherapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy as well as traditional Chinese medicine. Patients with stage 4 lung cancer are recommended to receive regular treatment, and their life expectancy can be extended to some extent.
