Does early stage of cervical cancer cause back pain and abdominal cramping?

Cervical cancer may occur in early stage, but it is not a specific manifestation of cervical cancer and cannot be judged as cervical cancer by the feeling of back pain and abdominal swelling. Early onset of cervical cancer is relatively insidious, usually without any symptoms, and is mostly detected after screening. With the development of the disease, patients will have symptoms such as contact bleeding, abnormal vaginal bleeding and fluid discharge. In the case of back pain with abdominal cramping, screening for cervical cancer needs to be performed after excluding other problems such as menstrual period and pelvic inflammatory disease. If only the manifestation of lumbar soreness with a feeling of small abdominal cramping and no other symptoms are present, a definite diagnosis is usually not possible. Since the incidence of cervical cancer is trending younger, it is recommended that women aged 21-29 should undergo cervical cytology examination every 3 years, and if they are over 25 years old, they can undergo HPV examination alone; women aged 30-65 should undergo combined cervical cytology and HPV examination every 5 years.
