What should I do after being diagnosed with prostate cancer?

The most important thing is that you will be able to find the best way to get the most out of your prostate cancer. However, prostate cancer is a very heterogeneous disease and once diagnosed, it is important to visit a specialist as soon as possible for scientific evaluation and to develop an appropriate treatment plan based on the specific condition. Generally speaking, experienced physicians will determine the clinical stage of the patient’s condition and the risk rating based on the results of the puncture, imaging, rectal examinations, and PSA values. For early stage patients, timely radical surgery can be performed to remove the cancerous tissues from the body, which can achieve the ideal treatment effect and cure. For patients who are unable or unwilling to undergo surgery, radiotherapy can also achieve good treatment effect. For patients who have spread and metastasis, these methods are not applicable, and endocrine therapy can be used to control the disease as well. Endocrine therapy is only suitable for advanced cases with metastasis and spread, and it is not the preferred option for early to middle stage cases with limited tumor, because this method cannot eradicate the tumor, and it will be active again after some time. Therefore, for patients with limited tumor, it is important not to copy the so-called “injections and medication” to control the tumor and miss the chance to cure the tumor.
