Treatment of Osteosarcoma

Treatment of osteosarcoma is currently based on high-dose individualized neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery. Currently, the 5-year tumor-free survival rate is 50%-70% based on neoadjuvant chemotherapy and the correct surgical protocol. The protocol of surgery should be based on the effect of preoperative chemotherapy and the surgical stage of the tumor. In addition, the wishes of the patient and family, the patient’s age and psychological status, the site and size of the tumor, the condition of the soft tissue and neurovascular bundle, and the foreseeable postoperative function should be taken into consideration. The existing treatments should be applied in a planned and rational way, with the aim to eradicate and control the tumor to the greatest extent, increase the cure rate and improve the quality of life of the patient. The general principle is: life preservation first, then limb preservation, and finally the issue of function. The factors that affect the prognosis of malignant osteosarcoma are as follows: i.
