How many days is normal for menstruation

Menstruation is a special biological cycle for women, usually around 3-7 days. Menstruation usually occurs around 12-50 years of age and refers to the cyclical shedding and bleeding of the endometrium that accompanies the ovarian cycle of ovulation and is one of the signs of maturity of the reproductive system. A woman’s menstrual cycle varies from 21-35 days, usually around 28 days, and periods usually last 3-7 days. Physiological vaginal bleeding occurs during menstruation, with dark red blood, sometimes with small blood clots. The volume of menstrual blood in normal women is usually 50-80 ml, with the most bleeding on the 2nd-3rd days of menstruation. Menstrual periods of less than 3 days and more than 7 days are considered abnormal, and patients are advised to visit a hospital to check the cause. In addition, since women’s immunity is lower during menstruation, they need to keep their vulva dry and clean. They should pay attention to not taking a sitz bath during menstruation, changing sanitary napkins and underwear regularly to prevent menstrual infections.
