Why is there a lesion on the biopsy if the ct is normal?

Cervical TCT is a preliminary screening for cervical cancer, the results of the test are easily affected by factors such as sampling, cell preparation, physician’s technical level, etc. False positives and false negatives may occur in the test, such as deeper location of cervical lesions, collection of samples that are not in the area of the lesion, or fewer exfoliated cells, denaturation, necrosis and so on, resulting in poor recognition, or it may be possible that TCT is normal, but biopsy is the presence of a lesion. Usually TCT is only the first step in the examination of cervical lesions, if TCT shows problems, further examination of HPV, colposcopy or cervical biopsy is needed to accurately determine the condition; if the results of TCT show benign, other tests can be temporarily eliminated, and attention needs to be paid to regular re-examination. If the doctor asks for further examination of cervical biopsy after the examination, it is considered because there is a problem with the tendency of clinical symptoms and suspicious lesions on the cervix, which need to be further excluded. By understanding the TCT test, you will also understand why the TCT is normal but the cervical biopsy shows lesions. One cannot judge the absence of cancer by a positive test result, only that the chances of having cancer are relatively low. There is a possibility of error, and only the cervical biopsy is the most accurate.
