How long does it take to sit up with a fractured lumbar spine

It takes about 2 to 12 weeks after a lumbar spine fracture to be able to sit and stand, depending on the condition and the patient’s own situation and treatment, the recovery time for a patient to be able to sit freely varies.
If the patient’s lumbar spine fracture is mild, through bed rest, he or she can usually sit up in six weeks, and can only be sedentary in 10 to 12 weeks.
If the patient is treated with surgery and given vertebroplasty or pedicle nail fixation, he/she can sit up in 2~3 weeks with the wearing of a brace; however, the fracture end is not fully stabilized, and he/she will feel tired after sitting for a long period of time, and it usually takes 6~8 weeks of rehabilitation before he/she can sit up.
Patients with lumbar spine fracture are advised to consult a doctor in a timely manner, review the treatment in a timely manner, and follow the doctor’s instructions.
