What is lumbar spine fracture surgery

Lumbar spine fracture surgery refers to treating the fracture through minimally invasive surgery or open surgery.
1. Minimally invasive surgery: Some lumbar vertebral fractures such as osteoporotic compression fracture of a single vertebral body and mild pathological fracture of vertebral body can be treated in minimally invasive way because the degree of fracture is not serious yet, such as percutaneous puncture cement vertebroplasty, percutaneous screw and titanium rod endoprosthesis and so on.
2. Open surgery: For severe lumbar fractures, fractures with lumbar instability or lumbar fractures with intravertebral space occupation, it is necessary to make an incision for internal fixation with nail rods, which can effectively deal with the fracture block or decompression of the vertebral canal as well as fixation of the vertebral body through surgical incision.
Lumbar spine fracture surgery, whether minimally invasive or open, is based on the condition of the lumbar spine fracture and must be performed by a specialized physician.
